Chiricahua National Monument makes a great day trip from Tucson.
The rock formations found here are awe-inspiring and probably like nothing you have ever seen.
You will see hundred ton rocks the size of buses precariously balanced on and area the size of a dinner plate and rock towers that rise up in stringy formations hundreds of feet tall.
Bring your camera because you will not want to forget this destination.
You may see real deer roaming and eating grasses in the park seemingly uninterested in your presence. In the winter you will likely encounter small amounts of snow.
There are plenty of trails to hike on and places to eat a picnic lunch. Spectacular views abound in all directions as you drive up to the high points in the park.
Plan about three hours to see all the sites and take in the natural beauty.
