Run the Tucson Marathon!

Each December Tucson has a great Marathon road race. I have run many road races but this was my first Marathon and one of my most memorable. The course starts about 25 miles north of Tucson in Oracle Arizona and is a long gradual downhill run all the way to Pusch Ridge. Busses pick you up and take you out of town in the wee hours of the morning while it is still dark out. All the riders pile out in this dark cold remote location. And it is ccccooollllldddd. But the sun comes up just around the start of the race and it quickly warms up. Then you are blessed with hours of spectacular mountain scenery as you descend into Tucson. Chances are you will get great weather for this event too! If you want to run a marathon I would recommend this be your first because it is a fast easy course and the race is run very well.
